Assistant Accountant – Aitken Spence – Colombo

The ideal
candidate should possess a Degree in Accounting/Finance or a part/full professional qualification from CA-SL/CIMA/ACCA. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Finance field is essential to perform this role. Analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work well within a team are key attributes and competencies sought.

Main duties and responsibilities include:
• Reviewing and submitting supplier bills for payment processing in line with the credit periods assigned following authorization by the Financial Controller
• Registering supplier bills and passing entries to the general ledger via the system
• Ensuring all accounting transactions are routed through the general ledger
• Assisting in providing management information by preparing accurate financial analyses
• Assisting in carrying out all audit procedures (internal, statutory, and tax audits)
