Shangri-La’s Hambantota Resort is currently looking for the right people to join our team. We currently have a vacancy for Service Leader – IT at Shangri-La’s Hambantota.

Job Summary:
Assist the IT Manager with desktop support, troubleshooting desktop hardware/software problems, and carrying out projects as assigned in a culturally diverse environment. In general, free the Service Manager form some of the day to day issues, focus on larger projects and IT initiatives.

Job responsibilities:
■ Attends to daily activities on the operation of computer equipment.
■ Provide support for POS users.
■ Provide support to PC users.
■ Trouble-shoot and resolve minor problems encountered.
■ Conduct regular maintenance on all computers and printers which include cleaning and disk checks.
■ To perform daily back-up of database for all critical applications
■ Store disks or tapes off-site and in a fire proof safe.
■ Restore data occasionally to ensure it is retrievable.
■ Trouble shooting and problem solving.
■ Printer & Hardware Servicing.
■ Change/Upgrade to systems as and when necessary.
■ Assist the guests resolving Internet & Wi-Fi problems
■ Configure dial-up, broadband, wireless on guest laptops
■ Keeps track of computer hardware sent out for repair.
■ Be responsive to needs of all operating departments in order to ensure guest service will not be affected.

Job Requirement:
■ Guest oriented and service minded, with attention to quality
■ PMS System: Opera, Infrasys POS, SUN, HR System, HSIA, Inventory Control System
■ Networking and Wireless System
■ Strong leadership skills and an ability to train and Dynamic Organized Methodical and solutions oriented
■ A thorough and organized approach
■ Ability to perform under pressure
■ Vocational certificate or diploma in Computer and Informatics
■ Minimum 4 years’ experience of Hotel or Resorts
